Kate Middlemiss
Motivational Speaker
This is a great place to add a tagline.
Kate Middlemiss has a Masters of Education degree and holds a Massachusetts teaching certificate in early childhood and elementary education. She has 15 years of teaching experience and is passionate about educating the whole child. Her teaching interests have always focused on early literacy initiatives, family communication, and the development of strong social/emotional skills. She firmly believes that lessons in character need to be directly taught and modeled and incorporated into today's curriculum.
Upon suddenly losing her beloved son, Joseph, to a cardiac condition, Kate and her husband, Scott, lived through every parents worst nightmare. In an attempt to move through their own grief and carry on their son’s legacy of love, they began carrying out acts of kindness in Joseph’s memory. Not only was the experience cathartic and healing, but it also opened Kate's eyes to the power of kindness and its potential to change lives. Together with her husband, Kate began the “All You Need is Love” kindness “pay it forward” mission in December 2013. To date, over 10,000 random acts of kindness have been spread INTERNATIONALLY.
She is also the co-founder and President of The Joseph Middlemiss Big Heart Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
In an attempt to combine her lifelong passion for educating today’s youth with her new mission to teach about the power of kindness, Kate has been empowering school audiences throughout the state to "choose kind" and "be the change they want to see in the world." She's combined her own story of uncovering the power of kindness with developmentally appropriate literature and music to create an engaging and inspiring experience for various age levels. Her years of classroom experience assist her in captivating her audiences’ minds while ever so skillfully opening one heart at a time.
